Edit Technician Role Permissions

Using the options below, you can customize the permissions for users assigned to the roles of 'Technician', 'Lead Technician', and 'Subcontractor'. Be sure to click 'Save Changes' when finished.

Users may need to log out and log back in before they see permission changes take affect.

Appointments/Calendar

Lead Technician Technician Subcontractor
Create Appointments
Edit Appointments
Delete Appointments
Team Calendar View
Granting this permission will allow a user to access the Team Calendar views within the 'Calendar' tab. It will also a user to select a person besides themselves when using personal calendar views. This permission does not grant permission to edit another person's calendar.

Customers

View All Customers
Without this permission, users can only see the customers they are assigned to do work for. This permission allows you to let them see the entire customer list.
Create Customer Records
Edit Customer Records
Includes the ability to edit basic customer record information as well as customer contacts and locations.

Equipment

Work Orders

This permission allows a user to edit a Work Order, including things like 'Description', 'Type', 'Priority', 'Billing Address', custom fields, etc. It does not include the ability to edit labor, materials, expenses - those types of actions have their own permissions (see below).
Delete Work Orders
This permission allows a user to delete a Work Order, moving the Work Order to the Deleted Work Order area.
Change Status
This permission allows a user to change the status of a Work Order, but does not allow them to change the status to 'Closed'.
Change Status to 'Closed'
This permission allows a user to change the status of a Work Order to 'Closed'.
Reopen
This permission allows a user to re-open a closed Work Order by changing the status from 'Closed' to something else.
Modify When Closed
This permission allows a user to modify a closed Work Order, but only modifications that they are normally permitted to make on open Work Orders.
View Work Order 'Billing' Tab
The 'Billing' tab contains information such as the billing address, and billable status for the Work Order. It also contains a 'Billing Summary' (if the 'View/Print Billing Summary' permission is granted) that displays all of the billable items (labor, materials, and expenses) for the Work Order.
View/Print 'Billing Summary'
This permission allows a user to view and print the 'Billing Summary' for a Work Order. Granting this permission will also grant permissions to view prices for Labor, Materials, and Expense items.
View Job Cost
The 'Job Cost' tab contains information about the profitability of a job. Turning this permission on will allow a user to view both summary and line-item details about price, cost, profit, and margin.

If this permission is granted, users in the "Technician" or "Subcontractor" roles will see additional details about the contracts including the contract balances and history.
